Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
