'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith resumes clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he remembers the dramatic closing stages of his team's epic comeback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. That match culminated with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear following the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith struck the post with a speculative strike from 25 yards, and his teammate immediately hammered in the loose ball before sprinting toward the East Stand to celebrate, with supporters swarming the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The victory sealed an unbelievable comeback given the team had been behind 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. Amid the celebrations, there was some collateral damage. Galbraith explained, "There was a supporter shouting out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're individuals, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The victory booked a upcoming game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith ran close at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. He had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's volley from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've awarded it to him for attempting the shot from that far out," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before switching to right wing-back after Orient changed shape. That meant facing off against Jack Grealish, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the winger was among the Manchester squad who praised the way his former team approached the match.

City's Quality

"Physically they are exceptional but even the basics and simple things, they can just perform consistently," he explains. "It feels like they never miss a pass and they know how to manage and take the sting out of a game. You can think you're holding your own and then without warning they will just thread a ball between defenders without you even spotting it. You have to be focused every second of the game. It requires a tough attitude and concentration just to keep pace."

Swansea Move

The Welsh side were keen on Galbraith in January and beat off competition to secure him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He established himself as a crowd pleaser across a couple of years at Orient and has quickly done the same in his new home. At his previous team he linked up again with his former manager, who earlier gave Galbraith his first extended run in senior football on loan at a League One side from Old Trafford. Then came a spell at League Two Salford, before he departed his boyhood club.

Learning Curve

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into senior level. I think many athletes would say youth team games is completely distinct. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without serious challenge. There are limited hard challenges. Once you start playing men's games you have to adapt rapidly."

International Recognition

His progress reflects that development for club and country, excelling for the Green and White Army, who could still reach the global tournament next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has started the past five games, including both legs games against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a killer pass.

Early Days

It has been quite the ride for the kid from the local area in the Belfast suburb, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who was raised observing his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a central player, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Manchester United Experience

His single match for Manchester United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the Kazakh capital, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was shut owing to conditions of bitter cold. "That proved to be a extended travel and it was chilly," he recalls, chuckling. "The preceding week, the academy prospects worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to accompany the senior squad and make an appearance at the end was unbelievable."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to leave United, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "The decision proved relatively straightforward, because I arrived at the moment where I understood I wouldn't break through at the senior squad. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it became apparent where I thought I needed to go my own route, move to a lower level and play first-team games. Now I'm steadily progressing again."

New Environment

This occurs during mid-afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has somewhere to be at the early evening: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the young professional was a constant rider in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a team vehicle driven by team personnel, the transport team, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, another squad member, Malick Yalcouyé – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's enjoyable to interact with the lads but I'm aiming to be the next one to drive independently and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player likes to pull a few pranks; he's always up to all sorts."

Fan Interactions

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on public transport after commuting at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
